You better start looking both ways because the streets are about to become far less safe, thanks to the imminent launch of Street Fighter 6 drawing ever closer. To get players excited, and because once you’ve brawled in the street, it’s hard to go back, Capcom has announced an open beta for the game.
As with all open betas, this will allow players to download and try the game before deciding to go into debt to buy it. Street Fighter 6 has already had two closed beta events. So far, it’s been surprisingly well-received by participants, with many giving the game credit for improving on its predecessors.
Being better than Street Fighter 5 is hardly the highest compliment a game can receive, but hopefully, with its promised multiple control layouts, improvements to the graphics and art, and plenty of customisation options, Street Fighter 6 will not only be able to best 5 in a street battle but be considered a champion in its own right as well.
Those wanting to dive into the open beta with blazing fists can do so on the 19th of May and can continue whooping ass and taking names until the 22nd of May. As a consideration for those among us who the internet gods don’t bless, players will be able to start downloading the game on the 16th of May already. The beta will include cross-play between Steam, Xbox and PlayStation 5.
Unfortunately, PlayStation 4 players haven’t been invited to participate in the beta even though the game will launch on the platform alongside the others.
Street Fighter 6 is due to launch on the 2nd of June, but now we want to know if you will be jumping into the beta. Let us know in the comments.
