Final Fantasy 16 Details Upgrading And Abilities

With just over a month left before Final Fantasy 16’s launch, it’s safe to say that players are excited. Thankfully, Square Enix knows something about keeping fans on the edge of their seat and still feeling looked after. They’ve now dropped a video giving fans an extensive look at the game and how it plays.

Square Enix has been dropping preview clips of Final Fantasy 16 like it’s hot. Players have already seen much of what the game offers and how Final Fantasy 16’s action gameplay compares to its predecessors. But there is always room for more with fans, and Square Enix knows this well.

In a new and shiny video uploaded to Final Fantasy 16’s official Twitter account, players are shown how Clive can learn several abilities via a skill set focused on certain Eikons. For example, the Phoenix provides the Heatwave ability, which fires a shockwave of fire at an enemy, costing 120 ability points.

The option to upgrade abilities in Final Fantasy 16 is a surefire way to make combat feel more effective and impressive. Suppose players feel that specific attacks or moves don’t suit their play style. In that case, the move can be unlearned, with the ability points refunded to them, giving the player options to experiment with the Eikons’ various moves.

Players who want to take abilities for a test drive before committing can also head on over to the Hall of Virtue, a place similar to Devil May Cry 5’s practice mode, the Void, to practice the new combination of moves against virtual respawning enemies before trying them out in the main game.

Final Fantasy 16 will launch on the 22nd of June exclusively for PS5, and we don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
