Overwatch 2 Players Angered By Blizzard’s Tone Deaf Response To Player Suspensions

What better way to start a Friday off than with a heartwarming tale about how a game company is seemingly going out of its way to alienate and upset its player base? In today’s dose of news that no one asked for, Blizzard has actively been angering players with Season 4 of Overwatch 2, shocking, I know.

To start this tale, it’s worth noting that Season 4 of Overwatch 2 has been plagued with more issues than content, and Blizzard’s response has only made things worse. Since the season started, many Overwatch 2 players have been experiencing rather significant and frequent matchmaking problems alongside disconnections from competitive matches.

These issues and disconnects have nothing to do with the players themselves but instead with the game. However, players affected have also received season-long suspensions that Blizzard claims can not overturn.

A considerable amount of the player base has been experiencing a message that says “applying update” when they try to join matches before being disconnected altogether, which led to them getting suspended from the game.

This morning, Blizzard responded to this issue, acknowledging it and stating that the developers were currently investigating the problem and trying to resolve it but also stating that bans applied to players due to the bug would not be overturned.

Many players have rightfully gotten upset with Blizzard about this response, which speaks volumes about how little they care for their players. These seemingly endless issues and Blizzard’s lack of action don’t bode well for the game’s continued popularity.

What is your opinion on Blizzard’s response, and have you been affected by any of these issues? Let us know in the comments.
