FromSoftware have, objectively, released one of the best games in history. The Adventures of Cookies and Cream probably won’t be topped any time soon. However, in an attempt to do so they announced a sneaky reboot of the Armored Core series. Armored Core VI, the next game in the series, ten whole years since the last Armored Core was released, has been a long time coming, I assume. Admittedly I haven’t played any of them so the hype is probably a little less than it should be. I do think that Elden Ring is a game of epic proportions and if Armored Core VI provides an experience anything close to that, I’m sure it will be awesome.
To keep us all on the hype train, FromSoftware released it’s first gameplay trailer, a release date and a whole bunch of versions to pre-order.
First things first, the epic trailer:
Now that you’re mouths are all watering, let’s see how much of our hard-earned dollar bills we’re going to need to drop on this bad boy.
The standard edition, which is just the game is on pre-order now for €59.99, that’s around R1,200, and that’s just for the game alone. A Launch edition is also available that has a cool box, a poster, some stickers and some art cards – an awesome piece if you’re into the artwork of the game. The Launch edition comes in at €69.99, an extra R200 on top of the Standard edition. But let’s be honest, we’re not interested in these baby editions, oh no, we want our very own Armored Core mech figurine to come with our game! For the low low cost of €249.99, around R5,000, you can nab yourself everything the Launch edition has, some extra pins, a Steelcase, the digital soundtrack, a couple of stickers and a 19cm Armored Core Figurine. Still feel like that’s not enough? Ok. The Premium Collectors edition comes with all that and then a nice 32cm garage to house your mech while she does her napping. Cost? Only €449.99, or R9,000; That’s chump change for a mech garage.

Whatever edition you do end up pre-ordering, they all come with a pre-order bonus: “Tenderfoot” mech customisation.
Armored Core 6 drops on the 25th of August this year, so you have little time to save up for all these extra bits you’ll most definitely need.
