It’s almost time to take to the streets again and do what your parents always taught you not to do, fight. With Street Fighter 6, Capcoms shining jewel creeping ever closer on the horizon, the download size and pre-download date have officially been revealed.
Fans of streets and fighting will be excited to hear about a special 30-minute presentation later this month regarding the upcoming game. This presentation will be hosted by none other than… Lil Wayne? Capcom has also revealed how much space players will need to set aside for the game and when they can start pre-downloading it before its official release.
We know that Street Fighter 6 will come in at roughly 60 GB on both Xbox and Steam, with the file size for PlayStation remaining unknown. The previous entry into the franchise, Street Fighter 5, was around 35 GB, excluding the game’s cinematic story mode. This new and improved file size aligns perfectly with other games that have utilised the RE Engine, which has had similarly large file sizes.
When it comes to starting the download early enough to play on launch, PlayStation has announced that players will be able to start the download on the 31st of May already, a few days ahead of the game’s official launch. Still, players who go this route should also brace themselves for a day one patch.
Street Fighter 6 will release on the 2nd of June for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. To further tease the game, a comic book miniseries will also be released as a leadup to the launch that will focus on Ken Masters’ story and how he ties into the story of this upcoming game.
