In the years since its launch, I’ve found myself returning to the farming simulation game Stardew Valley, repeatedly thanks to it continuously receiving updates and new content to enjoy.
However, over the past few months, CocernedApe or Eric Barone, if you’d rather, has been unusually tightlipped regarding new content for the game and has shifted his focus to his new, upcoming title, the Haunted Chocolatier, until now.
Last night ConcernedApe took to Twitter to share a brief, and I do mean brief, updates surrounding the new 1.6 patch coming to Stardew Valley.
There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update. It's mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I'm taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC

In his Tweet, Eric Barone revealed that he is taking a break from the Haunted Chocolatier to work on Stardew 1.6. this update will include changes to make modders’ life easier and some new content for everyone to dive into and enjoy.
The last significant update for the game arrived in February of 2021 and added a plethora of new content, including a beach-themed farm, advanced customisation options for playthroughs, split-screen local co-op and more.
Will you be returning to my favourite time sink when the update releases? Let me know in the comments below. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have Parsnips that need planting… err…News… I have news that needs writing, damn you, traitorous fingers! Damn you!
