In the early hours of this morning, Microsoft offered a somewhat premature confirmation that Ubisoft+ is about ready to make its debut on Xbox. Over the past few years, there have been rumours and reports floating around the Internet that Ubisoft and Microsoft had been working together to bring Ubisoft+ to Xbox.
The service, previously known as Uplay+, is Ubisoft’s own take on a Netflix-like game catalogue, similar to what Xbox Game Pass is. In the years since the service went live, it’s become super popular among games and even made its way onto PlayStation last year.
However, Xbox fans eager to get in on this sweet offering have been left in the dark as neither company provided any official updates on when the service would arrive on the console until now.
Early this morning, an Ubisoft+ punch card appeared on the Microsoft Rewards section of the Xbox app, which strongly suggests and implies that the Ubisoft+ Xbox debut will be happening far sooner than anyone expected going into this week.
According to a report late last month, the Xbox version of Ubisoft+ should include roughly 60 games on release, making it considerably smaller than the PC version, which offers over 100 games and day-one access to Ubisoft releases.
Ubisoft+ releasing on Xbox makes sense as Ubisoft has been pulling all the stops to grow its subscription service which is already available on PC, PlayStation and Amazon Luna.
