To say there is excitement in the air surrounding the upcoming release of Diablo 4 is to downplay things. Since the game’s two beta weekends, players have been yearning for more information. Thankfully we don’t have to wait long as Blizzard has now explained some of their plans for Diablo 4’s post-launch content.
From what Blizzard has revealed, we know that Diablo 4 is set to be a full-fledged live-service experience, filled with seasonal events and content on launch, which lends to the plans for the game’s longevity.
According to Blizzard, the plan is for Diablo 4 to receive heavy drops of new story-based content every three months. Accompanying the quarterly story content, there will also be more minor updates which will release alongside each new battle pass.
Blizzard didn’t elaborate on if these quarterly updates would be considered full expansion packs, but they did say there would be new features, mechanics and more.
The plans Blizzard has for the future of Diablo 4 will follow a similar structure as Destiny 2, something that Bungie has received a lot of love for.
Over the last few weeks, Blizzard has been going all out, revealing much of what fans of the upcoming game can look forward to while playing through the main story and what fans can expect when that’s done.
As with previous Diablo titles, players can grind for better loot by completing Capstone Dungeons and engaging in the Paragon System, refining their build beyond their original Skill Tree as they see fit.
