This morning, Sony announced that a new PlayStation State of Play live stream would be heading our way tomorrow. It will serve to illuminate one of the most highly-anticipated upcoming triple-A blockbusters. For those who don’t know, PlayStation State of Play Events offers exclusive looks at upcoming titles – like a mini E3 event that is exclusively Sony-focused.
The most recent event happened back in February, and it showcased a bunch of upcoming indie titles and PS VR 2 games. We also saw far more of the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, with developer Rocksteady showing off roughly 15 minutes of gameplay and story footage.
According to a Tweet from PlayStation, Sony fans can look forward to another PlayStation State of Play event on the 13th of April at 11 pm for those in South Africa. So if the load-shedding gods allow you to push bedtime a little, then it’s an event you shouldn’t miss.
State of Play presents more than 20 minutes of new Final Fantasy XVI gameplay this Thursday. Tune in live at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST: https://t.co/nOULcwLVnQ pic.twitter.com/vNR9kGbxL6

So far, only one game has been confirmed for the event, but it’s a biggie. Sony has confirmed Final Fantasy 16 will be showcased with over 20 minutes of new gameplay footage promised. Since the game’s announcement, fans have eagerly awaited it as Final Fantasy 16 promises to be one of the darkest and grittiest mainline entries to date.
If the previous PlayStation State of Play events are anything to go by, there will probably be some other exciting reveals and surprises in store during the event. Will you be staying up to watch the live stream? Let us know in the comments.
