Today is a good day. Not only is it faux Friday thanks to the public holiday tomorrow, but it’s also real Thursday, which means it’s free game day thanks to the Epic Games Store.
For those who don’t know what Epic Games Store and free games have to do with each other, allow me to elaborate. Every Thursday, the Epic Games Store makes a new game, or in some cases multiple games, available for players to download and add to their libraries for free.
All little treasure goblins like us need to do to grab this gift for themselves is log into their Epic account, redeem the game on offer and add it to their library. That game is then yours to keep, to play or to add to an ever-growing list of games you mean to play but probably never will.
Today is one of those special Thursdays where Epic decides to outdo themselves and give away not just one game for free but two, and they are:
Shapez – available from the 6th of April until the 13th
Shapez is a game where players build factories for the automated production of geometric shapes on an infinite map. As you progress through the levels the shapes become more complex, and production must increase exponentially to meet the demand; it comes with the added challenge of colour extraction and mixing.
Dying Light Enhanced Edition – available from the 6th of April until the 13th
Dying Light: The Following is an expansion for the 2015 survival horror game Dying Light and is included in the Enhanced Edition. The expansion featured a buggy, a new way to travel around the world, an additional game mode, two new quarantine zones and two content bundles to help take the game to a new and exciting level.
