In the early hours of this morning, the Developer Update for Dead by Daylight dropped, and it details some significant changes coming to the beloved game. It’s hard to believe, but Dead by Daylight is already eight years old and constantly changing and evolving with each constant update. April looks to be no different in this regard.
When it comes to a game like Dead by Daylight, it constantly needs to be adjusted and refreshed to balance the constant addition of new killers and survivor perks, with many killers having a unique notable advantage on specific maps in the games, while survivors dominate others.
Now back to the developer update, starting with some quality-of-life changes, players will now be able to enable the automatic allocation of Bloodpoints while also being able to select a farther node and have the game automatically decide which items to purchase.
Another major update will be to the healing mechanic. The developers have found that it provides an unfair advantage over the killers. As such, Healing times will be adjusted going forward. The Autohaven Wreckers map will also get a complete overhaul to fix some map balance issues.
Finally, some of the killer’s mechanics will also be adjusted and changed, with the most significant change being the removal of bright light interactions. On top of this, The Artist’s crows and The Hag’s traps will no longer be able to be removed with the flashlight because the developers hate fun and believe it creates unfair matchups in the game.
Dead by Daylight is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
