There is nothing quite as exciting as LEGO games, and this time around, it’s even more exciting than usual as LEGO has announced they’ve partnered with 2K to bring out LEGO 2K Drive, a AAA racing game set to release May 19th already.
As announced last night, LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world game with both single and multiplayer and will let players build any vehicle they like, from street racers, off-roaders, or even boats. The game is also set to release on PlayStation5, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and on PC via either Steam or Epic Games Store.
The game promises an open world with different biomes, races, minigames, challenges, collectables, things to destroy, and a story to tie it all together. And to top all the epicness off, it’s still a LEGO game which means players will have access to over 1000 unique LEGO blocks to make their dreams come to life.
LEGO 2K Drive’s multiplayer mode will let players race either against or alongside friends and foes alike and will offer competitive multiplayer for up to six players and will offer two-player split-screen capabilities.
At launch, there will be three editions of the game available. Standard; Awesome (which will include one new vehicle, a vehicle flair, an in-game Minifigure, and the Year 1 Drive Pass) and The Awesome Rivals Edition.
The Awesome Rivels Edition will include multiple new vehicles, vehicle flairs, and in-game mini-figures. It will also come with the Year 1 Drive Pass. For those wondering, the Year 1 Drive Pass is essentially LEGO 2K Drive’s version of a Season Pass and will introduce an all-new biome as well as four individual post-launch seasons of Drive Pass content, each with new vehicles and themes.
