World of Warcraft: Iconic Raid Sets Might Return In Future Updates

It seems like we’re talking about World of Warcraft: Dragonflight every week, and this week is no different. In today’s news, it appears that the game plans to add new ways for players to earn old gear sets in future updates.

As long-time World of Warcraft players know, many of the game’s iconic gear sets from raids and dungeons have been removed from the game over the years. This isn’t surprising considering that over the last 20 years that the game has been active, plenty of the original raids and dungeons have been reworked and changed, if not removed entirely, taking the gear earned from these instances with it.

The result of these changes is that some of the game’s most recognisable and beloved gear can no longer be earned by anyone playing the retail version of World of Warcraft. However, that might be changing soon,

As it stands right now, it seems like World of Warcraft is strongly considering adding some of these removed items and gear sets back into the game. During the European Content Creator Q&A session, the game’s director, Ion Hazzikostas, confirmed that while these items have been removed over the years, they haven’t been forgotten, and there is a good chance of some of them making a return to the game in future updates.

The Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 has already seen a few of these items return, with players able to craft various items from the original Zul’Gurub raid. During the Q&A session, Ion Hazzikostas refused to confirm by what means more of the iconic items would make their return, so whether they can be crafted through recipes similar to the Zul’Gurub items or will appear on the game’s new Trading Post feature is anyone’s guess.
