Techland, the developers behind Dying Light 2, are currently working on a brand new fantasy open-world IP and last night gave fans a first-ever look at what they’ve been working on. Rumours that Techland was branching out started in 2021 when two job postings hinted that the developers had started work on another AAA open-world RPG like the Dying Light games.
Then in 2022, Techland officially announced the game and started to actively hire a team to put this game together while also revealing some art and describing the game as an AAA Open World Action RPG in a fantasy setting. However, since then, there haven’t been any further reveals or updates, until now.
Last night on Twitter, Techland releases some new, never before seen concept art alongside the promise that the game would be narrative-driven and story-focused.
We never stop improving!
Our newest game is set to be a narrative-driven #fantasy epic with an exotic open world ready to be explored. We strive to create a compelling story-focused #AAA title that combines and refines the best aspects of gameplay that Techland is known for. pic.twitter.com/SuJ8vVWbrI

From our limited information about the still-untitled game, we know it will be a fantasy epic with a yet-to-be-revealed release window. While the specifics are still being kept under wraps, Techland’s director has stated that he believes in listening to community feedback when it comes to Dying Light 2, so hopefully when there is more to share, this sentiment stands for the new game as well.
