Ghostwire: Tokyo To Receive A Significant Update Ahead Of Its Game Pass Debut

Nothing quite like when an already great game receives an update that promises to make it even better. This is the case with Ghostwire: Tokyo. Announced last night, or early this morning, depending on where you live, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be getting a pretty significant update to coincide with the game’s Game Pass debut on the 12th of April.

The update will include a whole bunch of new content for new and returning players alike, from new areas, kills, enemies and even an entirely new roguelike game mode. The new roguelike mode will allow players to compete in stage-based challenges to put combat and traversal skills to the ultimate test. The challenge stages will be randomly pulled from a pool of over 130, and if you die at any point, you’ll have to start a completely new run but with a portion of your upgrades still with you.

The update will also see Tokyo expand with new areas to explore, including a Middle School with missions focused on exploring the area and more than likely encouraging players to use the newly added dodge button.

Another addition to the update is that cutscenes are being extended to allow players more character interaction and insight into the plot. Ghostwire: Tokyo wasn’t a bad game before this update by any means, but from reading about everything that Tango Gameworks plans to add, improve and polish, this might just be the perfect time to dive back in.

While we know about a lot of what’s to come in the April 12th expansions, Tango Gameworks is still hiding some cards up its sleeve and have said they are keeping some of the features and additions quiet to surprise returning players.

What do you think about all of this? Is it enough to make you dust the game off? Let us know in the comments.
