Microsoft Signs Yet Another 10-Year Call Of Duty Deal

Each year is inevitably remembered by whatever significant event framed it. 2023 will surely be remembered by gamers as the year of the never-ending Microsoft Activision Blizzard VS Sony VS the world debacle that seems to be getting more and more contentious by the day.

Today Microsoft has signed yet another 10-year deal concerning the intellectual property everyone seems to want to slice of, Call of Duty. Over the last few weeks, Microsoft has been handing out these decade-long promises like candy. First, they attempted to sign a deal with Sony, and then they signed with Nintendo to bring the game to Nintendo Switch. More recently a deal was signed with NVIDIA and now in a move that should come as a surprise to no one, they’ve gone and done it again.

Today, Microsoft has signed a 10-year deal with the international cloud gaming service Boosteroid to bring Call of Duty to the service – provided the acquisition goes through, that is.

For those who don’t know, Boosteroid is a Ukraine-based software development company and is currently the most prominent independent cloud gaming provider in the world. According to Microsoft, Boosteroid boasts over 4 million users worldwide. The deal is actually to bring Xbox games to the service, however, Microsoft did state that after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard closes, Activision Blizzard PC titles, i.e. Call of Duty, will be available on the service.

It’s worth noting that The Federal Trade Commission is still in an ongoing lawsuit with Microsoft to block the merger, while the European Union is also looking at the merger with significant legal scrutiny.

At this point, even if nothing else comes from this ongoing mess, one thing is sure, Call of Duty is undeniably one of the most popular games in the world, with more and more interest being shown the game’s way with each passing day.
