Last night or the early hours of this morning to be exact was Nintendo’s super special Super Mario Bros.-themed Direct event. Not only was the event a celebration of all things Mario, as it is Mario day today, but it also gave us our third and final trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie.
In true Nintendo fashion, the event was a lot of fun and after the trailer was revealed the film’s two directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic took a few minutes to talk about how they tried to create an authentic movie adaptation of Nintendo’s iconic games, especially with the recreation of the iconic Rainbow Road from the games.
The trailer was just as epic and exciting as the ones that have come before, however instead of Bowser just stealing all the limelight, the trailer gave viewers more of Seth Rogan’s performance as Donkey Kong to get excited about. The last exciting thing to have come out of the event was the announcement that Mario’s silver-screen shoes will be available to view at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Hollywood – a must-see for all super fans of the plumber.
The Super Mario Bros. movies will be arriving at cinemas worldwide on the 5th of April. Coincidently, I feel like I’m going to be sick that day and unable to work… I’m definitely not just playing hooky… I promise.
