Today seems to be the day for speaking about Discord. Earlier, we covered Discord finally being available for PlayStation 5 users, and now we’re talking about how Discord will implement A.I. into its platform, giving users a way to summarise their conversations.
In a press release from Discord this morning, the company announced that it would be rolling out an AI-generated feature called Conversation Summaries. Users can use this to compile messages into topics, making them more easily digestible.
The idea is that if you’ve been away from your Discord for a while and the conversation has gone on without you that you could use Conversation Summaries to put everything that you missed together into one quick summary, so you never have to feel left out.
Discord also announced that the robot their logo is based on, Clyde, will come to life in Discord servers starting next week. Clyde will operate much like ChatGPT, and users can ask Clyde questions, assign tasks, or even have extended conversations with the bot.
Discord’s navigation into AI comes during a time when AI is becoming more and more prominent across various companies and the internet. It also comes right after Google announced its chatbot, Bard.
We’ll have to wait for these new changes to be rolled out on Discord to judge how well the A.I. has been integrated and realised but as of now, we’re pretty excited to see how the service embraces and incorporates A.I. as it moves into the future.
