For decades now, The Sims has existed almost entirely uncontested. Sure, games have tried to stand up to the successful simulation game, but none have succeeded. Until now. Maybe.
Last night, during the Paradox showcase, Paradox revealed a short teaser for an upcoming game called Life By You. And while it looks pretty cool, what makes the game stand out is that the studio developing it is being led by former Sims studio head and Second Life studio CEO Rod Humble. For those who don’t know, Rod Humble has been actively involved in the gaming industry as a developer since 1990 but he is more known for his work on The Sims 2 and The Sims 3.

The teaser trailer didn’t reveal much of the game except for giving viewers a look at some of the suburban neighbourhoods and house construction. From what we’ve seen so far, Life By You might just be the first game can shake The Sims foundation – if only a little.
There will be a proper reveal for the game on Monday, March 20th over on the Life By You YouTube channel, but until then, please excuse me… I have some Sims games to re-download…
