Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Over Six Years Old And Still Receiving New Content

Yesterday, I responded to a comment from a reader expressing their disbelief that the Game game store was already five years old. Today it’s my turn to stare at a date, trying to make it make sense but coming up blank.

How is it possible that Mario Kart 8 came out in 2014? No matter how long I let that date sit, it never feels right. And sure, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, you’ll tell me, but that doesn’t feel any more believable.

But I digress; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a game released over six years ago, is still alive and thriving and is gearing up for a fourth wave of DLC tracks arriving on March 9th.

This upcoming DLC will include eight different tracks from previous entries into the series and an additional character for fans to play, Birdo. There will also be a brand-new track called Yoshi’s Island. The other included tracks are Riverside Park, DK Summit, Mario Circuit, Waluigi Stadium, Amsterdam Drift, Bangkok Rush, and Singapore Speedway.

As with previous updates, this DLC is included with the Booster Course Pass purchase or the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier.
