Mobile gaming fans rejoice! At last, an actual game is releasing for mobile that isn’t Call of Duty or Fortnite. Last night Bethesda announced via Twitter that a spin-off of Doom would be heading to mobile devices thanks to the Zenimax-owned Canadian studio Alpha Dog.
I’d be lying if I said Doom didn’t hold a special place in my heart. It was my mom’s favourite game when I was growing up. While I’m generally terrible at it, I still enjoy watching others play like I did when I was a small child with my mom.
The upcoming mobile game is a cartoon-style top-down shooter featuring a brand new Mini Slayer character and is named Mighty Doom. When an unknown energy surge rips through a toy factor, the Mini Slayer is brought to life and transported to an alternate dimension. Taking control over the Mini Slayers, players will be tasked with killing all the demons between them and their stolen pet bunny, Daisy.

Mighty Doom lets players experience all the original charm of the DOOM franchise but is set within the alternate reality of the DOOM Eternal’s collectable toys. Players will arm themselves with legendary guns, upgraded gear, and powerful skills as they use their nimble fingers and lightning reflexes to shoot, dodge, and kill their way through waves of demons, iconic worlds and challenging bosses in this adorably violent mobile spin-off.
The game is set to release on the 21st of March for iOS and Android devices. Players eager to play the game on launch can pre-register now to be notified when the game releases as well as unlock a free Mini Slayer’s pack on launch, which includes:
