I’ve spoken about my love for my Nintendo Switch at length. However, the one thing that has kept the Switch from ever becoming my primary gaming console has been a lack of games. Sure, the Nintendo exclusives are unbeatable, but there are only so many you can play before the well is dry and you’re forced to roam the baron eShop desperately looking for something you feel like playing.
However, that will soon be a struggle of the past as Microsoft announced that Xbox games are coming to Nintendo consoles as a part of the latest Microsoft and Nintendo collaboration.
On his Twitter account, Microsoft’s vice chair and president, Brad Smith, announced that Microsoft and Nintendo had reached a 10-year agreement to bring Xbox games to Nintendo consoles, which means that for the first time, Nintendo fans will be able to enjoy Call of Duty and other games formerly exclusive to PlayStation and Xbox.
We’ve now signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo’s gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms. pic.twitter.com/JmO0hzw1BO

Brad Smith explained on Twitter how this decision is based upon giving gamers more freedom when choosing their gaming platform. Brad Smith also hinted that there would be more big announcements like this in the future by saying:
“This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms.”
Hopefully, this deal also means that gamers will have a new rendition of the Nintendo Switch to look forward to as the current hardware has begun feeling its age recently. A new, more powerful console makes sense with a partnership like this.
