This past week has been about updates, from games getting significant patches for the year ahead to Microsoft bringing some new and exciting changes to Xbox. We were only getting started. Yesterday the first meaningful update of the year arrived for Total War: Warhammer 3. While the update addressed many issues and bugs, it also significantly changed the game – a change sure to be appreciated by all Warhammer players.
Total War: Warhammer 3: Immortal Empires campaign may still only be in beta, but it’s been one of the best-received campaigns in the series since its release. However, only a few players have had the opportunity to experience all the greatness until now. The Immortal Empires campaign has been locked unless players owned all three Total Warhammer games.
But that was then, and this is now, and thanks to changes by Creative Assembly, anyone who owns regular old Warhammer 3 can now play the Immortal Empires campaign with the base races and Lords. Bringing Immortal Empires into the light is the most significant change with the 4.0 update, but it’s not the only one. Here are some other changes players can look forward to:
- Karak Eight Peaks is now a ten-slot settlement for the Skaven.
- Garrisons are no longer reinforcements and now enter the battle from the start.
- Interrogating Grom the Paunch in Athel Tamarha as Eltharion now correctly gives Mistwalker units the ability to mirror Grom’s Big Waaagh ability.
