The First Update For Hogwarts Legacy Is Here, Unless You’re Playing On PS5

What could be more magical and fantastical than Hogwarts Legacy? An updated version of Hogwarts Legacy, that’s what. Players waiting for this “day one” patch can now download it and start playing… Provided they’re not on PS5. Apparently, the PS5 update has been delayed until later this week due to unforeseen issues.

Last night Warner Bros. released the full patch notes on its official site and detailed all the changes players can expect. However, we’ve got you covered if you want the short, more condensed version.

Regarding PS5-specific updates, there will be a fix for the Collector’s Edition Trophy, which should be obtained when players finish all of Hogwarts Legacy’s many collectables.

The other updates are the same across the board and focus exclusively on bug fixes. Here are some of the biggest ones:

  • Fixed issues with achievement data being properly pushed to the Wizarding World portal after linking.
  • Fixed an issue with mail not correctly triggering sequential missions.
  • Fixed issues with flickering occurring with a transparent head while hair is still present.
  • Corrected VFX presentation of robe transformation.
  • Fixed a stability issue when skipping cutscenes.
  • Fixed a crash when playing cutscenes and cinematics.
  • Improved performance on Fidelity mode.
  • Fixed issue with the wind causing distortion and stretching of world assets.
  • Improved crash collection to help chase rare crashes.
  • Fixed audio that was missing or not correctly playing.
  • Fixed issue with RTAO looking worse than SSAO.
  • Adjusted default setting to Medium Quality.
  • Shader compilation performance updates and functionality enhancements.
  • Resolved an issue with Nvidia GPUs having a lower frame rate than AMD.

Over the last week, I’ve played the game for a second time over both PS5 and PC. I have been lucky enough not to encounter any significant bugs. However, if you weren’t as fortunate as me, this is an excellent time to download the update before continuing on your Wizardry journey.
