If there is something I love, it’s anything that helps simplify my life. Usually, that wouldn’t be synonymous with Microsoft, but here we are. A Twitter user, Albacore, spotted early work for natively integrating RGB PC gaming accessories to Windows 11.
This means that The Windows lighting experience will include the ability for PC gamers to configure accessories with RGB lighting without having to install third-party software.
What Albacore found in the latest public test builds of the operating system are options for controlling brightness, lighting effects, speed, and colours. All within the settings interface of Windows 11.
New settings for device lighting make an appearance in build 25295. Is this the beginning of the end for low quality RGB gamer gear apps? 🎮 The spec for this is from 2018 and references to the feature have been around for years. Not cancelled after all 🥳https://t.co/oG4JbKsoeB pic.twitter.com/bMtxCH8REo

If this feature does head our way, it means no longer having to sit and instal apps from Razer, Corsair, Logitech, and a million more just to be able to customise your lights.
So far, there has been no word from Microsoft confirming or denying these features. Still, we know they are working on some more experimental features, which are expected to be bundled into a big update later this year.
