Hogwarts Legacy Sorting Hat - Which House Should You Choose?

Hogwarts Legacy Sorting Hat – Which House Should You Choose?

Thinking back, one of my favourite childhood memories from the Harry Potter books and movies was the magical sorting ceremony. My friends and I used to use our Hogwarts house like others do horoscopes, and still, to this day, I am deeply offended at the thought of being a filthy Hufflepuff.

Hogwarts Legacy pulls much of its inspiration from the Harry Potter universe. Much like it, it also has three good houses to choose from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and then Hufflepuff.

For many new students, picking the house they’ve grown up feeling an attachment to seems obvious; however, you probably want to know if there are any core changes to the game depending on that choice, and that’s what we’re exploring now.

Soon after you start playing Hogwarts Legacy, players will find themselves at the Sorting Ceremony and need to make choices. The hat will ask players to pick a trait: Daring (Gryffindor), Ambition (Slytherin), Curiosity (Ravenclaw) or Loyalty (Hufflepuff).

And that’s it. It’s pretty barebones. For players wanting a more in-depth sorting process, the game allows you to head to Wizarding World and take the sorting quiz. Then by linking your WB Games account, carry that house directly into your game.

Immediately after players say they are happy with their given house, their robes will change to the house’s colours. Their character will also be assigned to that house’s dorm rooms, which are the most significant changes to the game.

The most notable changes to the game, depending on house choice, are as follows:

Common Room location. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw Common Rooms are in their founder’s towers. The Hufflepuff area is connected by a corridor that leads to the kitchens. And the Slytherin Common Room is in the dungeons.

NPCs. Throughout the game, NPCs will give you quests and aid you along your way. This NPC might change depending on which house students find themselves a part of.

So, for the most part, the story and game remain unchanged in Hogwarts Legacy regardless of the house you find yourself a part of. Players don’t need to feel like they have to change their house of choice to get something different out of the game.

Hogwarts Legacy also allows for four saved slots, so technically, players have the open of playing a student from each house – should they so choose.
