It’s always good to start the morning off with some good gaming news, and today that news comes to us courtesy of Marvel Snap, the collectable card game that has taken the mobile gaming world by storm. Since the game’s release in October last year, one of the biggest and most significant requests is that the game allows players to challenge their friends, 1v1 style. Now, as of this morning, that is finally a possibility.
So grab a friend and hug your friendship goodbye because Marvel Snaps Battle Mode has finally arrived.

Up until today, the only way to show off your mad skillz in the game has been by entering into a competitive match with a random anonymous opponent in your same skill bracket. Still, no matter how you cut it, that doesn’t have the same punch as beating someone you know and love proving your card-collecting superiority face to face.
Second Dinner, the developers behind the popular game, have said that this new 1v1 Battle Mode would be a tournament-style event where players play multiple games against one another until a clear winner emerges.
“Battle Mode pits two opponents against each other through multiple rounds. Each player starts with 10 health,” the post said. “Instead of Cubes, what’s at stake is the amount of damage the winner will deal to the loser. If you can deplete your opponent’s health to zero, you win!”
