SARCO to host 6 week racing series on PS4 and PC featuring top British tracks and Kyalami

SARCO is set to host a 6-week racing series starting tomorrow night. The series, which will be held on both PlayStation 4 and PC, will feature an open-class GT3 race on 5 British tracks and Kyalami, all on Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Each week, participants will compete in two sprint races, with the top 6 racers from the first race starting with a reverse grid. The races will be broadcasted, providing fans with live commentary and a sense of community.

SARCO, which stands for South African Racing Community Online, started in 2017 with a mission to provide online drivers with a place where they can get a highly competitive, clean racing environment where drivers treat each other with respect, both on and off the track.

While most of SARCO’s community remains on the PS4, the PC offering will likely expand this year as the PS4 population begins to dwindle. “The plan this year is to grow the PC offering from SARCO while we still manage the expectations of the Console Community, purely because that is the core of the community,” says Dylan Hall from SARCO.

The community began with Project Cars 2 and eventually grew to include Assetto Corsa Competizione. SARCO has also integrated its online and offline operations, staging 5 full-day karting events in the last three years.
