For better or worse, Forspoken is officially out in the wild. While we need to be farther into the game before we share our opinion, we did put together a list of our top tips and tricks to having an okay-ish time in Forspoken. Read into that sentence what you will.
So without beating around the proverbial bush any longer, here are our top starter tips and tricks:
Spellcraft Challenges Are Your Friends
You can continually improve Frey’s spells with Spellcraft Challenges, so always have a few active ones. You can activate these challenges after you visit the Archives in Cipal, by using bookcases located there and in Pilgrim’s Refuges.
More Pouch Space For Fun
Make sure you upgrade your pouches as soon as possible because we all know nothing is worse than trying to explore while perpetually encumbered. Whenever you visit a Pilgrim’s refuge, you’ll have access to a crafting bench that you can use to upgrade your gear or craft new items, and it’s here that you should upgrade your pouches. Trust me.
Mana Is Your Friend, Through Thick And Thin
Mana lets you solve puzzles you might be stuck on. If you hate solving the Mystic lock-picking puzzles as much as we do, you can always spend some Mana to help solve the puzzle in a fraction of the time. Or, you could always head over to the Accessibility Settings in the Options menu and turn on Automatic Lock-Picking. Just saying.
Necklaces Do More Than Look Cool
Make sure you check for necklace upgrades while you journey through the game. Upgrading the bad boy will unlock new equipment perks that can be applied to your other gear.

Gravity Is Not Your Friend, But You Can Trick It
Fall damage is never fun in the game. However, if you find yourself plummeting to certain death, you can always use Tanta Sila’s tendril ability. Point it at the floor just before you land to avoid fall damage. And if you happen to be falling towards a body of water, that has the same effect.
Zip Here, Zip There, Zip Everywhere
Zip is objectively the best way to move around in the game. At the start of chapter 6, players can unlock the Zip skill and using this spell to move around improves the game tenfold.
Always Make Time For Roasting Marshmallows
Make a habit of setting up a camp before each big battle. Even when using Zip, travelling around Athia is always slow, so make sure you set up camp after large stretches of travel. These camps will allow you to craft, rest and act as if you were in a Pilgrim’s Refuge without travelling there.
Settings Are There To Be Used, Never Forget That
Don’t try to be brave, the settings menu allows players to tailor combat to suit them and their playstyle, and no one will look down on you for using these settings. Players can use settings to adjust the Damage Received, Stamina Recovery Speed, the Enemy Knockdown time, and even enable automatic Healing Items or evade.
These are our top tips for making your journey through Athia as painless as possible. Do you have a tip that deserves to be on the list? Leave it below, and let’s all help each other have the best time possible.
