In news I wasn’t expecting this early on a random Wednesday morning; there is a Rainbow Six movie in the works, and it will star none other than Michael B. Jordan. Now to clarify here, for those who might not know, Rainbow Six was first and foremost a novel by renowned author Tom Clancy, and it’s that novel that will receive the adaptation.
Tom Clancy is no stranger to having his work reproduced across various forms of media, from TV shows to films and, thanks to a lucrative deal with Ubisoft, games. Using the Tom Clancy branding, Ubisoft adapted Rainbow Six into one of the most successful multiplayer franchises.
And now that same IP is getting a movie starring Michael B. Jordan, which will tie into another movie. In 2021, Amazon adapted another of Tom Clancy’s novels, Without Remorse, which also starred Michael B. Jordan. Even though the upcoming Rainbow Six film is a Paramount movie, it has been announced that it will serve as the direct follow-up to Without Remorse.
Michael B. Jordan is currently the only confirmed actor and will reprise his role as CIA operative John Clark. While no plot details have been revealed, fans can expect this movie to follow the source material closely.
Now we want to know from you, are you excited about another novel-to-video-game-to-film adaptation? Let us know in the comments.
