New Trailer For League Of Legends Is So Bad People Want To Riot

League of Legends is another beast altogether. I love it; I hate it; I regret all the hours I spend playing it, and I’m excited at the thought of playing it again every day. However, regardless of how I may feel towards the vortex of misery on any given day, the one thing that has remained consistent through the years is my unbridled excitement each time a video is released for the game.

The one area where Riot truly excels is making content so good you’ll find yourself wanting to share it with your gran in the nursing home so that she can experience the same shivers and goosebumps that you did. However, unless you were trying to kill grandma with pure boredom, this year’s video was better off forgotten.

So to catch you up, ever since 2018, Riot has released trailers for each new season of the game. Each trailer has seemingly gone from strength to strength. Each is beloved by fans of the game and outsiders who can’t deny excellent production quality when they see it. However, after epic highs, there has to be a low. This year’s trailer was so dull and underwhelming that Riot took to Twitter to apologise and explain the debacle. Kind of.

“This year, there were some unprecedented circumstances that had us choose an alternate approach to the Season 2023 video. However, we believed it could still embody League’s broad universe and competitive spirit while celebrating the start of a new season. But we’ve heard your feedback, and we want to acknowledge Brink of Infinity missed the mark for the action-packed, champion-led trailer you expected and has led to further speculation about our investment in League.”

“We do believe that League has a bright future and we are investing in that, but we can do a better job of sharing those plans with you. We are committed to giving you more details about what that investment looks like in the next couple of days. We really appreciate your passion and feedback, and League’s success wouldn’t be possible without your dedication. Thank you.”

But now we want to know from you, did you watch the trailer? And if so, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
