It feels like a lifetime since I’ve found myself thinking of or talking about EVE Online, and it seems I was the only one. After one of the game’s best years yet, CCP, the developers have released their plans for the new year by announcing not one but two new expansions for 2023.
The game’s recent Uprising expansion sees the warfare between EVE’s factions taken to blistering new heights by blowing up an entire star. This war change saw a 75% increase in PvP kills in lowsec and an 11% PvP kill increase in highsec despite the additional restrictions on ganking.

EVE Online is looking to continue this momentum into the new year and to celebrate the game’s 20th anniversary, CCP has announced one expansion coming in quarter two of the year and another in quarter four. A Fanfest event will also be celebrating the game’s anniversary between the 21st and 23rd of September.
Over the past few years, CCP has changed and improved the game by overhauling both the UI and the graphics, ensuring that it still feels like it belongs in the year 2023, regardless of being 20 years old.

Now we want to know from you, are you excited about this influx of new content coming to the game or have you found yourself moving on from years spent exploring the solar system as I have? Let us know in the comments.
