While receiving a new trailer for a much-anticipated TV adaptation might not be the highlight of one’s week, it is pretty damn close and receiving a new trailer for the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us is pretty much as good as it gets. With many of us having recently replayed the game, there couldn’t be a better time for the show to release, and if we can’t have the right this second, then trailers will have to do.
Thankfully, HBO just released a new trailer filled with all-new footage – something that’s always great. The trailer begins with Ellie asking Joel about what keeps him going if he doesn’t have hope, to which Joel offers a heartwarming reply about family before remembering he is Joel and asserting that Ellie is not the family he referred to and instead is just cargo.
Some new visuals fans can spot in the trailer are an abandoned mall, some clearer shots of Bill and a brand new character reveal. Hands down, the best moment in the new trailer is character actor Scott Shepherd joining the cast and almost chopping Ellie’s face in half.
HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us is set to premier on the 15th of January. Are you as excited about it as we are? Let us know.
