Last week we said that in the leadup to rAge Expo 2022, we would be taking some time to dive into some of the people, companies and exhibitors that will be helping to make rAge one of the best gaming events we’ve had in years.

So what better time than now to look into one of the game studios bringing the Home Coded section of the expo to life than now?
Aligned Games is a local, small-scale video-game development studio started in 2013 by Johannes Nienaber, and at rAge Expo 2022, Aligned Games will take to Home Coded to show off two of their games.
Back when Johannes Nienaber first started Aligned Games, the focus was on creating multiple smaller-scale games, but in the years since, the company has shifted its focus to developing more prominent and more significant games.
Johannes Nienaber is more than just the brains behind the operation; he is also the brawn and heads the entire studio. This means that everything associated with the games he creates, from ideas to assets, are his creations.
Alongside listing the games created by Aligned Games for sale on Steam, Johannes Nienaber also has a Unity asset store and a Sketchfab model store with a wide variety of assets for video game development.
At the Home Coded section of rAge Expo 2022, Aligned Games will showcase two new games already available to wishlist on Steam. Both games are expected to release in the first half of 2023, but rAge will give those interested a chance to see them in action before they officially release.

Grunt1991 is a multiplayer shooter set in various brutal stages across the war-torn areas of 1990’s Sierra Leone! Being based on the conflicts that took place in this beautiful yet war-ravaged country, there will be blood, conflict and vengeance!
