This weekend has seen many of my friends and others throughout the globe have absolute breakdowns after finding themselves seemingly locked out of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, despite their best efforts to get into the game. In a wildly reported glitch, players have been locked out of the game after the client demands they first buy Modern Warfare 2. Even if they already have.
As of writing this post, there is no known solution for the issue, and neither Infinity Ward nor publisher Activision Blizzard has acknowledged it. However, a quick browsing of social media will reveal how widespread this issue is. Players who decided to cave and purchase Modern Warfare 2 could also not get past this glitch, and players who already own the game have also found themselves locked out.

While Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 has been an enormous success, it could have been smoother sailing for the game and the players. In the last two weeks alone, players have reported experiencing a range of game-breaking issues, from their clients crashing to not being able to download the game at all. Another significant problem plaguing the game is that battle royale prohibits players from rejoining matches when they get disconnected, an issue made all the most frustrating because many disconnects are game and server related.
At the moment, the going theory is that the game’s shared launcher may be the culprit but until the developers choose to respond, that is only speculation.
