Since the dawn of gaming, gamers have always been aware of how impressive the scores and soundtracks of the games we love genuinely are. Now, the rest of the music-loving world has realised it too. A couple of months ago, the Recording Academy rocked the boat in a big way by announcing it would be adding new categories to its annual Grammy Award and that one of those categories would be solely for soundtracks to video games.
Pearls were undoubtedly clutched, but honestly, this recognition was a long time coming, and now, we can finally see which five games got the first-ever Grammy nominations:
Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Composer: Austin Wintory)
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok (Composer: Stephanie Economou)
Call of Duty: Vanguard (Composer: Bear McCreary)
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (Composer: Richard Jacques)
Old World (Composer: Christopher Tin)
And now we want to know from you, dear readers, if you could be in charge of nominating games to win Grammys, which five would you pick? Let us know.
