What’s better than playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II? Playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with a skin that turns you into a man with a moustache that could only be called majestic while wearing a Burger Town t-shirt. But wait, did I make a typo? No, no, I did not. Burger Town is the CoD franchise’s burger emporium which has partnered with the one and only Burger King to bring this skin to life and into your game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II players in South Africa looking to add a little bedazzle to their in-game experience can head over to a participating Burger King franchise and order any of their Call of Duty offerings (which consists of 2 different Call of Duty Whopper King boxes, 2 different Call of Duty Crispy Chicken boxes or the Call of Duty Plant based whopper box) to get the skin for free bundled with one hour of double XP.
This promotion is currently running in 39 countries. Social media has been going wild with pictures of Call of Duty-themed Burger King’s decorated with mini-maps and game scenes to celebrate this partnership, with some stores going further than others.
Two stand-out experiences so far have been in Paris, where gamers over 18 can play Modern Warfare II on one of the ordering kiosks within restaurants and in our very own South Africa, where participating restaurants will offer guests the opportunity to use night-vision goggles to experience a completely dark Modern Warfare II-themed restaurant and scan QR codes to earn in-game rewards.
To claim your skin and XP boost, first make sure you purchase and eat one of the eligible burgers, then grab your code from the bottom of the burger box and head over to www.callofduty.com/bkredeem to redeem.
Of course, something great can only happen with people trying to monetise it, and the BK Operator skin is currently selling on eBay for $34.99 or R636.
