Rode has been making a bit of noise in the gaming scene of late with a range of products perfectly suited for streaming. Yesterday the company launched its latest microphone line-up that is aimed at gamers and streamers.

Anyone that has ever set up a streaming session knows the hassle of getting good audio to your viewers or teammates. Now Rode aims to make things a bit easier with its new sub-brand, dubbed, Rode X. This new platform consists of two microphones and a new software called Unify which offers some cool virtual mixing functions to get your audio out to the world. Unify will also allow you to mix up to four USB microphones together, something that usually requires costly hardware to achieve. This software will also deliver numerous audio processing features. Unify will be bundled with the new Rode X microphones.

First up is the XCM 50, a condenser microphone featuring 24-bit/48 kHz USB-C connectivity and built on a 360-degree swing mount. It bundles with a desktop tripod but you can also mount this microphone onto a boom arm. The XCM 50 also features a built-in 3.5mm audio jack allowing you to monitor your voice directly from the source. there is also a level control knob and a mute button for those moments you want to rage.

For those who want a pure audiophile experience, the XDM 100 will be your mic of choice. Resembling a futuristic version of the popular Rode Procaster microphone the XDM 100 also features 24-bit/48 kHz USB-C connectivity and far better noise reduction. It also features the built-in Revolution Preamp feature from Rode, ensuring your voice is captured at higher fidelity without the need for external hardware.

Both Rode X microphones are now available in South Africa. The Rode X XCM 50 retails for R3,879 and the XDM 100 will set you back R6,479.
