There’s A Surprise Beta For Resident Evil Re: Verse, And It’s Active Now!

Last night was the Resident Evil Showcase, which explains my constant yawning today. CAPCOM took the time to answer questions about the upcoming DLC for Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 Remake during the showcase. However, the most pressing news was that CAPCOM would be hosting a short early access event for Resident Evil Re: Verse, and it’s active right now for PC, PS5 and Xbox One Users.

The beta is currently active and will remain so until 8 am on Wednesday the 27th for South Africans. According to CAPCOM, this beta is to test the game’s crossplay capabilities before its official launch on the 28th of October. Participating is also reasonably straightforward. Anyone who owns a copy of Resident Evil Village can participate, and all they need to do is download the games client from their platform of choices store, and they can dive straight in.

For those who don’t already know what Re: Verse is all about, it is a two-to-six-player third-person shooter game in which players will take on the role of characters from across the entire franchise. The object of the game is to rack up points for kills in fast-paced five-minute deathmatches, and if players die, they have the option of rejoining the game but as one of the franchise’s villains.

Players can play as Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Clair Redfield, Ada Wong and HUNK when the game releases later this month. Resident Evil Re: Verse launches October 28 on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
