UL Solutions have announced an update to 3DMark this week, adding DLSS 3 and DLSS Frame Generation support to the NVIDIA DLSS feature test.
You can now compare performance and image quality with and without DLSS processing using the 3DMark NVIDIA DLSS feature test. You can also contrast performance with and without DLSS 3 if you have a new GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU.
The NVIDIA DLSS feature test can be run using DLSS 3, DLSS 2 or DLSS 1. DLSS Frame Generation which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to increase frame rates while enhancing responsiveness with NVIDIA Reflex, is included in DLSS 3 and has three image quality modes to choose from; Quality, Performance and Ultra Performance.
The clever new Optical Flow Accelerator found inside the GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs and the powerful Tensor Cores found inside the Ada Lovelace GPUs are both used by NVIDIA’s new DLSS Frame Generation.
The 3DMark Port Royal ray tracing benchmark includes a test for the newly updated DLSS feature, with two passes being run. The second run renders Port Royal at a lower native resolution and then uses DLSS to create frames at your output resolution, while the first pass renders Port Royal with NVIDIA DLSS disabled to measure your baseline performance.
This update is free for 3DMark buyers who made their purchases after January 8, 2019. If you made your purchase after that time, you’ll need to pay for the Port Royal upgrade DLC, which includes the new NVIDIA DLSS feature test.
You can buy 3DMark on Steam or direct from the UL Solutions online store.
