Gotham Knights is already making waves in the media, and the game hasn’t even been released yet. Last week we learned that when the game arrives on consoles on October 21st, it won’t be coming with any performance mode and should only be able to run at 30 FPS. This news was confirmed by Gotham Knights executive producer Fleur “Flaoua” Marty on the game’s Discord channel. Now, there’s another (if more pleasant) announcement about the yet-to-be-released-title.
In just over one month from now, gamers who own Gotham Knights will be treated to a standalone 4-player co-op mode that will form part of a free update. Late Friday afternoon, Studio WB Games Montreal announced via Twitter that “Heroic Assault” would be a new “online-only” mode arriving in the game on November 29th.

Heroic Assault will be a mode that exists completely separate from the primary campaign, which at the moment can either be enjoyed on your own or with a second person via online co-op even though the game centres around four playable heroes: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood. From what we know, Heroic Assault will take place on its own map, which will contain unique objectives and waves of enemies that need to be defeated to ascend the maps 30 floors.
According to Studio WB Games Montreal, Heroic Assault has no microtransactions attached. While Heroic Assault is listed as a “standalone experience”, WB has confirmed that the game mode will only be available for those who own Gotham Knights.
