Okay, let’s address the penis; I mean the elephant in the room. If the title of this review offends you or the fact that I’ve said the word penis a handful of times now, then this is not the game for you, and you should know that straight off the bat. However, if you’re still here after all the peni (plural of penis – don’t @ me) talk, then read on.
Burning Daylight is a free Stream game that’s been on my radar for a while before I decided to download and play it. The game was developed by 12 students from Denmark, and if you’ve got an hour spare, it’s well worth the download, even if just to see what they accomplished.
Burning Daylight isn’t a game that will appeal to many as there is a distinct lack of… gameplay? Best described as a story-based walking sim, those looking for puzzles to solve, dialogues to explore, or multiple endings won’t find that here.

However, you will find a dark, twisted walking experience set within a dystopian future. Players will spend their time in the game guiding a mute and completely naked man around and trying their best not to get him caught and killed by the robot overlords.
Overall the game is as depressing and ominous as it is refreshing. I always enjoy seeing what small, inexperienced game development teams can come up with because it’s a great indication of the medium’s future. Burning Daylight isn’t a game set to win any awards, and it’s hardly a game calling out to be replayed but what it does have is a lot of spirit and beauty to spare.
