We all have that friend who likes to either breathe super heavily down their mic and straight into your ear while on a voice call or eat. And if you don’t have that friend, you ARE that friend. Sorry, not sorry. Thankfully, the days of having to put up with the world’s most annoying sounds right in your earballs are finally over… so long as you use Xbox Party voice chat, that is.
Thankfully, Xbox released their long-awaited Xbox Series X/S Noise Suppression feature, and as you’re reading this post, it’s ready to be downloaded and installed as part of Xbox’s latest system update. According to Microsoft, the Noise Suppression feature will actively remove unwanted noise from party chats like clicks, heavy breathing, or even your friend’s background music that they swear high and low isn’t coming from them even though everyone knows it is…
And if you aren’t as easily annoyed by your friends as we clearly are, or maybe you just enjoy hearing them breathe (you weirdo), then the feature can be turned on or off at any time by opening the guide and accessing the “Options” section of the “Parties & chats” feature. Xbox is just the latest in a long list of companies to offer this type of feature, with Zoom, Discord, and Nvidia already on the bandwagon earlier this year.
