This past weekend was the Ubisoft Forward event. It showcased many of the studio’s upcoming games and gave us some extended footage of games on the horizon. From a deep dive into the customisation options offered in Skull and Bones to the reveal of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, there was much to be excited about.
If you missed out on watching the event live but still want to know what all the hype was about, you’re in luck. We’ve put together this list of our favourite announcements from the Ubisoft Forward event for you to enjoy.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Even if you didn’t tune in to the Ubisoft Forward event, if you’ve been on the internet since this weekend, you’ve probably heard about the latest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Mirage. Returning to the franchise’s roots, Mirage will focus more on social stealth and traditional Assassin’s Creed gameplay than the RPG-focused games of the last few years.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity
One of the most exciting announcements of the event was the unveiling of Assassin’s Creed Infinity. While Assassin’s Creed Infinity isn’t a game in its own right, it is a platform for all future Assassin’s Creed content. In the future, each new Assassins Creed title will be offered inside of Infinity, and as part of the showcase, they announced the first two titles: “Red” and “Hexe”.
Trackmania
Following the roaring success of the game on PC, Ubisoft announced that Trackmania will soon be making the jump over onto console. Ubisoft also detailed how the cross-progression and cross-play systems will work, with players being able to move between platforms even if they started their track journey on PC.
Skull and Bones
During the event, we got to see and learn more about the upcoming nautical adventure game, Skull and Bones. Ubisoft showcased how the ship customization will work and detailed the amount of control players will have over their ship’s combat style.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
Next month the long-awaited sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle finally drops. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is a game Nintendo Switch gamers have been waiting for since the first game dropped. Ubisoft used their event to announce players can look forward to the sequel finally launching and that there will also be a variety of DLC packs released via the season pass, with one of these packs adding Rayman as a playable character.
Rainbow Six Mobile
During the event, Ubisoft spoke a lot about Rainbow Six Mobile, which is currently in closed beta testing. Judging from the brief gameplay we’ve seen so far, Rainbow Six Mobile looks to deliver a very similar experience to that of Rainbow Six Siege and includes many of the same characters and locations.
