One of the most anticipated and spoken about games of the last few years is fast approaching. With a release date of 10 February 2023, fans don’t have long to go before they can finally get their hands on Hogwarts Legacy. And for those of us who still need some lessons in patience, well, you can start getting ready to delve into the wizarding world now.
Thanks to a blog post that went up on the popular wizardry site WizardingWorld.com, many fans worldwide were delighted to learn that you can now link your WB Games account with your Wizarding World account to transfer your data between the two. This means that when the game launches in February, you can either scan a QR code or visit the website to start playing Hogwarts Legacy with the house you’ve already been sorted into and the wand you’ve already created.
While we don’t yet know all the details about the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game, we know that the game will feature a Sorting Hat. However, the game won’t randomly assign players to a house; instead, they leave the house selection entirely in your hands, which is where the Wizarding World comes in clutch.
Not everyone wants to pick their wizarding house; for many, half the fun is being assigned a house. For those who wish to have this more personalised, true-to-the-source-material type experience – linking your accounts will allow this to happen. Players can head to the Wizarding World site, fill in a questionnaire, get assigned their house and then carry that decision into their Hogwarts Legacy game on launch.
Your house isn’t the only data that will carry over. Players can also bring their wand design into the game, helping to create that personal feeling. Players who choose this route will also receive two in-game cosmetic rewards: a Beaked Skull mask and a House Fan-atic School Robe in your house colours.
The process of linking your two accounts is pretty straightforward. Here is everything you need to know: If you already have a Wizarding World account OR a Pottermore account, head over to WizardingWorld.com and log in with your account details. Otherwise, create an account.
Once logged in, you’ll need to complete the wand ceremony to get your personalised magic stick and the sorting ceremony (otherwise, be banished to Slytherin) before heading to the WB Games website.
Once on the WB Games website, you follow the same steps as before, either login to your existing account or create a new one. Once logged in, connect to Wizarding World by pasting a unique code in and just like magic, your two accounts will be linked.
Once the Hogwarts Legacy launches and you start the game, a prompt will ask you to log in with your WB Games account. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll have your wand, your house, your exclusive cosmetic rewards, and you’ll also be gifted with a super special wallpaper.
Hogwarts Legacy was first announced back in 2020 and now has an official release date of 10 February 2023. The game will be released for PC, PS5, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. It’s also been announced that the game will come to Nintendo Switch later.
