In case you missed it (because maybe you’re in your 30s and bedtime has suddenly become a very real thing), this past Friday night was the annual THQ Nordic Showcase, where they talk about everything coming from the studio as well as give updates on already announced projects.
Friday’s showcase included a good mix of 90s games getting a revival and some brand new IPs. Here is everything announced during THQ Nordic’s 2022 Showcase:
Alone in the Dark – Coming… Sometime

Developed by Pieces Interactive, Alone in the Dark, the OG survival horror game, is back with a reboot/reimaging/remake of the 1992 title. So far, information is scarce, but THQ Nordic did confirm that the game will be coming to Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
Alone in the Dark will remain a single-player experience and feature an original story from Mikael Hedberg and creature designs from Guy Davis. The game will also feature characters, places and themes from the ’90s trilogy.
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed – Coming 30 August 2022

One of the few games from the showcase to have a release date is Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed. Developed by Black Forest Games, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed will launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and will be a smoother and more polished version of the 2006 game.
The Alien known as Crypto is back with a license to probe. Experience the swinging ‘60s in all its chemical-induced glory and take revenge on the KGB for blowing up your mothership. You’ll have to form alliances with members of the very species you came to enslave.
Space for Sale – Coming Soon

Very little is known about developer Mirage Game Studios’ upcoming game, Space for Sale. We understand that the game is being developed exclusively for PC and that THQ Nordic calls it a “hands-on” management sim.
Players will supposedly be able to roam exotic, procedurally generated planets as an intergalactic property developer on a mission to build habitats for eccentric alien clients. Discover the wonders scattered throughout the new solar system you bought cheaply, build estates and sell them for a sweet profit.
Gothic 1 Remake – Coming Soon

Back in 2019, we got to experience a short, playable teaser for a remake of the first Gothic game. This teaser ended up being so popular that THQ Nordic ordered that the teaser get further developed into a complete remake of the 2001 title.
As in the original, Gothic 1 Remake will see players take on the role of a convicted prisoner who finds himself on a quest across a dangerous medieval fantasy realm, only this time around, with good graphics. Nothing more is known about the upcoming game other than it will be developed for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 consoles.

In this turn-based game, you will be hiring mercenaries, meeting interesting characters, and fighting in style true to the franchise.

From what we’ve seen of the game thus far, it looks like an open-world racer emphasising freedom and player-created content.
Way of the Hunter – Coming 16 August 2022

Only the second game announcement from the Showcase to include a release date, Way of the Hunter allows players to become the new owner of a hunting lodge nestled among gorgeous habitats and rich animal populations.
