Lookie lookie, someone decided to give me a whole weekly column and now you’re all forced to read whatever sort of whatever I decide to put here on this digital paper! Yay for all of you!
Before we get into the actual content, I just wanted the opening piece to be a little “Hey there, welcome to campfire” and let you all know what you’re in for when you sit around it. The fairy godfather at NAG hath blessed little old me with the PlayStation Plus Deluxe Tier *fairy dust sound effects* and I’m going to attempt to play something new from the catalogue each week and then tell you all about it. Should you play it? Should you watch someone else play it (because I’ll be posting some video footage of that too if you subscribe to my Only Fans *wink wink) or should you just scroll right on past the title of the week? Who knows what we’ll be diving into, there are literally hundreds of titles to dig through and take a shot at. I’m excited, but I’m also nervous, do you know how much sleeping I do in a week? All this new gaming is going to eat at so many of those hours, like a tiger hunting a duck in a pond. (This metaphor makes sense! Think about it).
In any case, I hope you enjoy my rants and my raves each week for Column Deluxe, now let’s get to it.
I’m not going to be comparing the new PlayStation Plus to Game Pass, as best as I can avoid it because this column isn’t about that, it will be about the enjoyment you can get from these new PlayStation Plus tiers and my thoughts on whatever crazy jumbo we get involved in.

GAME PA- I mean- PLAYSTATION PLUS DELUXE EDITION! PlayStation’s competitive product to, what I think is, the very successful Game Pass. Essentially, a monthly subscription to a bursting catalogue of games for you to download and play whenever you’d like, for as long as they plan to keep that game in the catalogue. We know how this works; we all have a Netflix or Spotify or iTunes or YouTube or Video Town membership that we pay for and then get the stuff that we want from them. It’s convenient, it’s awesome. I love it. Is it worth it though? Should I be forking out a little bit of extra moola to upgrade my PlayStation Plus account to the full Deluxe Tier? Well, I think that’s probably up to you in the grand scheme of things, but in my mind, I feel like “Extra” is the perfect spot for your PlayStation Plus subscription.
However, whether you’ve gone for Deluxe or Extra, I still feel like it’s worth it. At around R1,400 a year, for the Deluxe Tier, you get an awesome array of games ranging all the way back to the O.G. PS1 era, sure you might not be a fan of all of them, but the fact remains you’re paying around R33 a game, and that’s only if you look at the PS5 library. There are hundreds more in the PS4 library and even more in the classics library. It pretty much speaks for itself, but again, I’ll leave it up to you.
As I just said, there is a massive library of games to choose from, so, to make it easier for me and not because I’m lazy or anything of the sort, I’m going to leave the first game we choose to play up to you guys, maybe I’ll leave all of the choices up to you, let’s see how it goes.
Comment below what you guys would like to see me write about from the PlayStation Plus Deluxe Tier, it can be anything from the list that we have access to. Better yet, hop into our Discord where you can vote for the next game I play with an added little incentive. (Disco Disco!)
See you all in a week (or sooner) Ex Oh Ex Oh
