Launched earlier this year, the Logitech G413 SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is as straightforward as it comes and perfectly suited for those who don’t want anything too flashy. The series is available in two models, the full-size G413 SE that we are reviewing here and a smaller version called the G413 TKL SE which has only 87 keys and no Numpad.
As we’ve come to expect from Logitech, the build quality is superb but it is those tactile mechanical switches that will steal the show. Yes, yes, not everyone likes Tactile switches but we all know it really is the best switch available. Don’t @ me. A Tactile switch isn’t as loud as a Clicky switch but I do enjoy the solid response I get when gaming with these keys.
Each key on the Logitech G413 SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is backlit with a white LED, there are no RGB lighting effects here. I can hear the cheers of a thousand gamers vehemently against RGB, loving this monochromatic design choice. The keyboard’s top case is made from a black-brushed aluminium-magnesium alloy and there is virtually no frame wrapping the keyboard. This gives the Logitech G413 SE a smart and minimalist look and is perfectly suited for gamers going for that clean desk feel.
In fact, this keyboard is so minimalist that it does not bundle with a wrist pad. Not a biggie of course, but worth noting if you are into that sort of thing like I am.
In the month that I used the Logitech G413 SE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, I could not say that this one was particularly better than anything I’ve tested before but it certainly did not leave me disappointed in its game performance. My gaming performance, on the other hand, is not worth mentioning here.
