It’s 2022, if you’re out there, living your best life, you more than likely have some sort of portable power device hanging out in your bag, ready to juice up your array of gadgets and tech, after all, any moment could be the prefect selfie moment and you don’t want your battery to be dead when that moment arises. But! You probably have some run of the mill power bank that you got for free at some office function. I know you.
What you really need is a Winx Go Ultra 20000mah 100W PD Power Bank, try say that five times fast! OK fine, it’s A LOT bigger than that little cigar shaped one you have now, but in this case, size matters.

First-off, the Winx Go Ultra is 20000mah, that’s twenty thousand for those of us trying to count the zeroes. That’s a lot of mah, bro. It managed to juice up my iPhone around 6 times to full load before I needed to charge the Winx Go Ultra up again. The other neat thing was that it held it’s charge for a REALLY long time, I had it at 45% and a week later it hadn’t dropped.
The Winx GO Ultra has a dedicated 100W PD port, for those of us in the know, we’re like heck yeah, for those of us out the know; PD (Power Delivery) is essentially faster fast charge than fast charge should be. It allows for a higher, but precise amount of power to be delivered to your device meaning you go from 20%-100% in 20 minutes, well I did anyway. The other cool thing about having a 100W PD port is that the Winx GO Ultra is not only for your phone or some other small device, but it can also charge your Macbook or laptop too, provided it uses USB-C for charging.
For a rectangular black brick, the Winx GO Ultra was kind of nice to have around, it felt like it fitted in to my tech lifestyle, running a Raspberry Pi on the go, or keeping my phone topped up on my desk. It has a neat little LED screen that shows the percentage remaining and a button on the other side to turn it on, but other than that, sweet black minimalism.
At an RRP of R1,199 the Winx Go Ultra is really well priced for the features it comes with, I don’t think you’d be able to find something with this big a battery and power output for this kind of price.
Sure, there isn’t much to get excited about when it comes to power banks, but living in South Africa, with our abundance of “wet coal”, having a power bank that does more than just keep my phone at 32% is something I got excited about.
