Bullet Echo is a fun, free-to-play, tactical PvP shooter with fresh game mechanics and quick rounds. Developed by ZeptoLab, the company behind games like Cut the Rope, Bullet Echo is a stealth action game where your view is limited to the beam of your flashlight. You can of course see details on the map like walls and loot but movements by other players are obscured. If an enemy is close to you, you may see their footsteps and when there is gunfire you’ll see where it’s coming from, but you’ll need to move carefully to avoid being spotted or killed.
There are about 20 heroes you can play and unlock and if you like leaderboards, you’ll love the daily leagues in this game. The heroes differ in gun class, speed, and each one has a special ability that you unlock by picking up specially marked loot boxes in the game.

As you’d expect, the most popular game mode is Battle Royale, but you can also play solos in King of the Hill or in teams of 5 in Sabotage, where your objective is to plant or defuse a bomb. You’ll also find time-limited games that only become available every few hours, like Squad vs Squad.
As you jump into a game, your first objective is to find ammo. Your hero has a weapons class assigned and you’ll play either sniper, shotgun, sub-machine or assault rifle, based on your hero of choice. Players can pick up loot and revive other players by simply standing over the item or player. What you may find surprising is that firing happens automatically so you’ll need to keep your sights on target at all times. As a mobile gamer, I love this game mechanic and it makes dodging around corners feel a lot more tactical.

My only criticism of this game is the limited number of maps that are available.
If you want to spend some money to unlock characters or abilities you can do so for a few rands but you don’t need to if you just want to play and have some fun. You’ll be able to unlock characters and buy upgrades as you earn in-game currency with each win. As far as free-to-play goes, Bullet Echo has given me hours of playtime and is one of the best mobile games you can play at the moment. I usually play a few quick rounds during the day to get my mind off work or a problem I am battling with. It usually takes me about 15 minutes to clock a few rounds and I’m ready to get back to work. There aren’t many mobile games that let you jump into the action this quickly.
Bullet Echo is best enjoyed with a few friends. There is an in-game friend’s system but no in-game chat, so make sure you have a Discord room handy to chat strategy in-game. If you just want to play, there’s no need for chat, just jump in and shoot the enemy.
Bullet Echo is available on the App Store and Google Play.
